MX PARKS

How we handle your info.

Plain-language summary of what MX Parks collects, how we use it, and your rights. This is starter language — if you're going to bet your business on it, run it past a lawyer first.

What we collect

  • Account info when you sign up: name, email, password (hashed). Optional: hometown, racer number, bio, profile photo, phone (for track owners only).
  • Content you create: reviews, photos, claims, nominations, contact messages. Tied to your account.
  • Site usage: page views, IP address, browser type, referring page. We use this to keep the site working and show track owners how many riders viewed their listing.
  • Cookies: a session cookie when you sign in. We don't run third-party tracking cookies.

How we use it

  • To run your account and show your contributions next to your name.
  • To moderate reviews, photos, and claims (we read them before publishing).
  • To send you the emails you actually asked for: claim approval, password reset, optional weekly newsletter.
  • To show track owners aggregate metrics about their listings (page views, save count, review count). Owners never see individual rider identity tied to a view.

What we don't do

  • Sell your personal data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
  • Share your email with track owners or other riders.
  • Run third-party trackers, Facebook pixels, or analytics that follow you off-site.
  • Email you without a reason. Account-related and explicit opt-in only.

Third parties we use

  • Hosting: Hostinger (servers, database, file storage).
  • Email delivery: outbound mail provider for transactional emails (claim approvals, password resets, contact replies).
  • Maps: track GPS coordinates render via Mapbox or Google Maps when you click "Get directions."
  • Payments (track owners only): Stripe for Featured Track subscriptions. Stripe handles your card data — we never see it.
  • AdSense: Google AdSense serves ads on track detail and content pages. Google's privacy policy applies to those slots; we don't pass your account data into them.

Your rights

  • See what we have on you: ask via contact.
  • Correct it: edit your profile in your account, or contact us for stuff you can't edit yourself.
  • Delete it: we'll delete your account and tied content within 30 days of a request. Reviews you posted on tracks may be retained anonymized if other riders cited them.
  • If you're in the EU/UK/California, the equivalent of these rights are guaranteed by GDPR / CCPA — reach out and we'll handle it.

Kids

MX Parks accounts are for riders 13 and older. If we learn we have an account from someone younger, we delete it. Parents creating accounts to find tracks for their youth riders are welcome.

Changes

We'll update this page when our practices change and bump the date at the top. If a change is material (we start collecting something new, change who we share with), we'll email account holders before it takes effect.
